Setting Up MyMedicare Checks in MBSPro

The MyMedicare Check feature automatically verifies which patients in your waiting room are registered for MyMedicare, and whether they're registered to your practice — saving you time and reducing billing rejections.

How to Set It Up

  1. Get your Organisation ID and Site ID Log into PRODA, navigate to HPOS (Health Professionals Online Services), and open your medical practice account (not your individual account). Go to Organisation Register to find your Organisation ID and associated Site ID. You'll need both.

  2. Enter your IDs in MBSPro In MBSPro, go to Settings → Proda and enter your Organisation ID and Site ID.

  3. Activate HPMS Service Provider

In order for MyMedicare to work, the PRODA organisation must also have the HPMS Service Provider activated.

  4. Set up a B2B Device in Proda From the Proda homepage, go to Organisations (top right corner), then scroll down to B2B Devices and select Register New Device. Name it (e.g. MyMedicare_Check), add a description, and enter your Proda RA number. Click Activate — you should see a confirmation that the device was activated successfully.

  5. Activate the device in MBSPro Back in MBSPro under Settings, click Activate Device and complete the connection.

  6. Reset the clinic with a new code
For the change to take full effect, the clinic needs to reset with a new code.

In MBSPro, click Disable B2B Device, then generate a new code and reactivate it in MBSPro.

Once set up, MBSPro will automatically check every patient in your waiting room and display their MyMedicare registration status — a green tick means they're registered at your practice.
